Love the cake cases Deb... seriously good looking muffins.  Mean to try cheddar ones soon!

Feejee... ground almonds are available in the bakery section of any supermarket, but cheapest are Aldi at 99p for 200g.  You can grind whole shelled almonds (minus the skins) with a food processor.  Also check out the dessert section of the recipe section.  I have made choc chip muffins and orange choc muffins... and also cakes... St Clement's cake, ginger cake, etc.  If not in the recipe section in this forum click on the Archive forum above and you'll find em there... or ask me and I'll point you, bit late tonight and I'm tired after a kind of roller coaster night with 1.6 hypo.

already on it! So far I have blueberry muffins, double choc chip muffins, blueberry cake, ginger cake and brownies on the list to make, just not sure which to do first! Hope you're feeling better in the hypo front, bad ones like that wipe me out for the rest of the day

I buy jars of sun dried tomatoes in sunflower oil from Tesco, I drain 'em on kitchen roll, they are moist and delicious!
I have already stocked up on ground almond ... sent my good woman on a raiding party to Aldi (99p 200g) a week ago  :)

Up to now I've just been making ground almond blueberry cake which I'm very partial to ( my wife loves the cake too)
I'll give these savoury muffins a shot tomorrow, perhaps throw in cheshire cheese, s-d toms, and oregano.

Well.... I just bought 12 silicon cake cases Items:    £0.01
Postage & Packing:    £4.59

Thanks for the recipe and link Patti

About 20 minutes Poppet.  I turn mine round after 10 minutes, so the ones that were at the back are now at the front but that's my daft oven and it's hot spots.

I've just bought my ingredients, thought I might throw a little pesto into the mix with tomatoes and smoked cheese and see what happens! Watch this space...

;D I made some too (first time for the savoury variety)

I used Cheshire cheese, dried oregano, a blob of mascarpone. half teaspoon of garlic & ginger paste, diced sundried tomatoes and topped off with half a baby plumb tomato. They came out perfect and they are seriously addictive.

I've made sunflower 'flour' to bulk up the ground almond. I whacked the seeds into my 'lecky spice grinder and blended the result with the ground almond. That will be the base for tonight's baking endeavour.

I've used the seed and nut mix before and the cake comes out great. I use almond essence flavouring and dot blueberries all over the wet mix, banging the silicon cake 'tin' on the worktop makes the berries sink. I bake it on Gas mark 5 for 20 mins then reduce to mark 4 for 10 mins. I've not had any disasters yet.  8)
A slice topped with single cream is very satisfying (and very more-ish)
