As many of you will know, the only funding we have received in the past to keep the forum going has come from members using the DSF "shop" which meant clicking through Spend and Raise thus generating a small commission on every online purchase. Spend and Raise have now been taken over by "Easyfundraising.com" and our account with Spend and Raise will be closed on 31st January.
We have registered with Easyfundraising for an account which is now live. To see how they work click here
http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/how-it-works/. In some ways it's better than Spend and Raise was because even if you have an account with a retailer .e.g. Amazon or M&S you will get commission providing you've gone through Easyfundraising.
To register to be a supporter of DSF click here
https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/support-a-good-cause/step-1/?char=116324. During the registration process you will be asked if you would like to download a toolbar - generally speaking I avoid all toolbars, but in this case it's not intrusive i.e. it's not sitting there onscreen all the time, but if you click on an item you are interested in purchasing, it pops up reminding you to buy it through Easyfundraising and at the same time finds you the cheapest retailer! So far as I know the toolbar isn't mandatory, but I quite like it.
If you have any queries please ask.
At the same time I'd like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have supported us through Spend and Raise over the past years - you've all been really great!
