Ok uploading to FB I can do
In the FB app you have an option to post "status" or "photo" or I forget the other thing (there's 3 options across the top at least in the iOS version). So you can click to post a photo using the photo button. OR if you're writing a status and realize you want to add a photo, you can add a photo from the typing screen - just click the little paperclip and it should pop up with an option to either take a new photo right now or use a photo you already have on there. I only know the iOS version of the mobile app so I can't speak to other versions but I imagine they must be relatively similar?
Sedge I'm afraid I know really very little about Samsung/Android phones! My "mobile device" isn't even a phone, it's just an iPod with wifi capability! And since I have wifi at home and on campus (so that accounts for 95% of my waking hours, LOL) I've just never bothered to get an actual phone.
Did the photos download okay before the driver error popped up? Have you tried it again since? And can you tell (does it say) whether the driver is particularly for the photo capability? I mean perhaps your computer is trying to interact with a particular aspect of your phone unrelated to offloading photos, whenever you plug it in. And you can just say "ok ok I know you can't find the driver" and download the photos anyway?
