I realise this is very similar to other recipes already posted but I enjoyed it so much I thought I'd post it anyway
100ml cream (I used double but single would be fine)
100g strong cheddar, grated
100g med cheddar, grated
200g ham chopped
1 x onion, chopped
nutmeg & black pepper (I left out the salt as there's plenty in the cheese).
Beat the eggs & mix in the rest. Butter a 9" quiche dish & bake in the oven for 30 mins @ gas 6
I served it hot with salad but the leftovers cold the next day were even better.
I also tried a variation by frying 500g steak mince with an onion & using instead of the ham. I also added 2 more eggs, it was lovely.
It seems to me that there are endless variations to this recipe.
I haven't tried to work out the carbs as I don't think it has many at all, my kind of eating
