Back for number 2 (hopefully!)
« on: 17 October 2014, 03:34:53 PM »
Hi all, dont know if anyone remmebers me but I was on quite a bit when I was pregnant with my daughter.  She will be 2 in January!

Anyway...Im now 5 weeks pregnant and delighted. Not getting ahead of myself tho as its early days and I did have a miscarriage before my daughter.  My control since I have found out has been very rocky! Seems to be mornings which are the problem...im always waking up high...usually between 10 and 12.  Seems to be no matter what number I have before bed and through the night when I test at 6am its high....very distressing! I think I had the same problem last time too.

So fingers crossed ill be sticking around here and getting to know all the other pregnant ladies xxxx

Hi Clare and welcome back.  Not many preview ladies in the forum at present, but Gemsa is.

If you could let us know what treatment you are on we may be able to help.  Really pleased to hear about your new pregnancy  :)

Hahaha Patti, a preview lady sounds more exciting than a pregnant lady!

Are you on MDI or pump Claire? Presumably you have a first appointment lined up with the diabetes team? Do they have the finer tweaks recorded in your notes from last time to remind you how you overcame the highs if they were there last time?
T1 diagnosed 1985, DAFNE Oct 2012 (HBA 9.2%), started pumping April 2013.
HBAs: Feb 2013 8.6%, Jan 2014 7.4%, June 2014 5.9%, Jan 2015 7.5%
Healthy baby delivered Nov 2014 predicted 97th+centile but actually 50th centile.

Hi

I remember, my son will be 2 in January and I'm now just over 8 weeks! Congrats and hope your diabetic team can help you? Are you on a pump? I'm not but sometimes wish I was as I've been having dreadful hypos, it's suddenly all coming back to me how stressful being type 1 and pregnant is! I have everything crossed for you xx

Hi all,

Just checking in to say that's me 14 weeks and so far so good! Got my latest HbA1c and its up from last time which was 5.8 to 6.3, I know that is still okay but wasn't expecting it to have gone up so much? I had a sickness bug so assuming that has maybe affected it? Finding now I'm in my 2nd trimester that my hypos are not taking a lot to sort out where as in my first trimester I needed lots more glucose to raise them so thinking I've maybe over compensated for some of them as find I get hypos most days? Testing lots so doing my best to not let them go above 8.

How is everyone else doing?

X

Oh, that sounds very hopeful Newbie.  14 weeks and all well  :)

Your new Hba1c sounds just fine.  It's so much harder to manage when pregnant as you have all those hormones washing around.  :)

Hi

Hope everyone is well? Am 18 weeks now and HBA1c is 5.7% so really pleased with myself. Feeling big now and beginning to remember what it was like last time! Needing to up my novo rapid a bit but not to the silly levels I had to last time but sure I only had to do that from about 32 weeks, how is everyone else doing? X
