This bit of Zoe Harcombe's article resonated with me:
Quote
There are overall wellbeing benefits from eating only real
food: people report having higher and more stable energy
levels, no 11am and 4pm hypoglycaemia; bloating, bowel
problems, headaches, skin complaints – diverse and
seemingly unrelated conditions disappear.
Because since diagnosis and being much more careful with my diet, curbing carbs and generally shunning processed foods I no longer have to take meds for diverticulitis and have lost the bloating and wind that used to plague me along with the acid reflux.  I do think quite a lot about food and find it immensely enjoyable to create new dishes from fresh ingredients.  Though this week I did get around spending hours cooking, by making a huge stew and eating it 3 nights out of 4 accompanied by different, easily prepared veg.

She also said:
Quote
There’s just one small problem to overcome – we seem to
have got the idea from somewhere that nature put real fat in
real food to kill us. That Ancel Keys fellow has so much to
answer for!
I couldn't agree more!

Did you mean John Nicholson? I thought this bit from his article deserved a cheer:
Quote
Especially in doctor's surgeries where their errant advice has
done so much damage to so many people for so long that a
class action law suit against every medic who ever pushed
the low fat, carb-based diet would not be unfair. The correct
information and knowledge was available; they chose to
ignore it.
The sad thing is that they are still dispensing this erroneous advice and injuring the health of many people with diabetes!

No Probs Q.  I knew who you meant.  Ironically I was reading the magazine on my kindle, and when I finished I picked it up.  It'd been resting on "Good Food" magazine, which was open at a page telling you how to make Chicken Liver Pate "more healthy", by removing all the butter and cream and substituting "low fat" cream cheese for them, then removing half the chicken livers and substituting aubergine.  Hmmmm... LOTS healthier?
