I thought you were supposed to eat the crisps before popping the bag?

Of course, did Tony and I say any different?  What I meant was once you'd given it a good smack and given your mom, sister, friend etc a heart-attack - fun over cos the bag was in shreds - like a cheap toy - use it once and that's that.

Until the next time your mom lets you have a bag of crisps, hopefully it was your dad who bought them whilst he was getting you and your sister's pop, his half of bitter and your mom's lime & lemon - cos your mom most certainly would NOT go up to a BAR - would she?  (I have a sneaky suspicion that my mama just might have been a bit too strait laced - ROFLMAO)

When you said they were wrecked I thought you meant the crisps.

My mum got Gin and Orange (undiluted orange squash - yuck!)

Mom liked that at home - you know - about twice a year !  Always Booths gin - yeukkk.

They did discover wine at some stage - only when out at dinner dances though, not otherwise.  Oooh yes! - she liked a nice glass of Sauternes she did.  With her MAIN course - of course !  Plus, the brazen hussy, she might even have had a nice glass of sweet sherry on arrival.  What a tart !

The Birmingham brewers Davenports used to do home delivery - 'Beer at Home means Davenports' their slogan, on the back of all the lorries.  She used to cross the road if we walked anywhere near one of them, didn't want it to be seen that she might associate with anyone who might be their customer.

Of course, we were brought up to think all this 'shouldn't do it and shouldn't even think of wondering why you shouldn't' was completely normal.  It's a wonder me and Gillian ever survived in the real world, isn't it ? !  LOL

I adore parsley - natural breath freshener, chew a sprig after you've eaten garlic or anything strong flavoured.
