Well I was certainly guilty of looking and not saying thankyou.

If you don't do something with a thread - even if you have no interest in it and don't want to read it ! - it just keeps coming up on your All Unread ad infinitum.  I did have an idle look at the beef one at the beginning,  not that we plan on making any Chinese meals, in fact it was so long ago we went through our Chinese fad the wok went rusty and we slung it years since.

The Chinese have a very nasty habit of sticking star anise in stuff .......

I did glance briefly at the posts, but didn't download the recipes until now.   I've had very limited time on the computer since about last Thursday as we've been out and about quite a lot.   I did however mark the thread unread so I could get back to it later, which I did today.  Thanks for posting the recipes Lucy.  I see most are carb counted, but a quick question - how many do they serve?  For example the beef recipe at 62g carb total would be OK if it were for 4 (or at a stretch for 2) but not if it were for 1 serving.

I went through a period of cooking a lot of Chinese stuff, then it was Thai and sometimes Indian.  Recently I've been cooking more English stuff cos it's comforting in cold weather, but come the summer it's nice to eat something lighter.

It depends how much you eat patti! I can't remember how many they served to be honest, but you'd probably get four from most of them, if you were having cauli rice or veg with it. None of them were just one. The quantities of meat involved probably give a hint as to who many serves. Those are untweaked recipes also so I'm sure you can adjust / omit things to make them lower carb.

I had the crispy beef recipe without the beef last night, just the carrots and spring onions and skipped the sugar. Had it with my dinner and was quite a nice alternative to just having steamed carrots.

Yes - it did strike me that you could easily swap the sugar for sweetener, provided it isn't required for caramelisation - and that would save a few carbs without having to try very hard.

The quantity of meat in the Beef one did make me think it would serve 4.  Yes, I think you'd have to have cauli rice or something to bulk it out.

You could use the 'Barenaked foods' range low carb noodles with the stir fries, out of all the 'Zero' products I've found them to be the most palatable out of all of them, plus they don'd stink when you drain the liquid out of the packaging! lol

Re the 'Thankyou for the post' issue, why not add a 'Thanks' or a 'Like' system here? There's been a few posts here that I couldn't add to with a reply but would have liked to have left a token of gratification, the forum I'm a co-admin on-the software didn't have that facility but I was able to add a Javascript in to facilitate such a feature. :)

I often just do steamed veg with things, as lazier once i've cooked the rest to bother grating a cauliflower too.
