It sounds delicious and I am sure it may be low carb, but did you notice?  There was no carb count given!  How the heck are we supposed to dose for it?  OK... I could work the carbs out for myself, but all the same on a site like that don't you think they ought to give nutritional info.

I was going to put it through my Cook and Count app, but it starts with 1 big leek.  How big?  Is that before or after you cut off the unusable parts?

If I had the ingredients to cook it I could weigh what I used, then work it out, but I haven't.

I'm pretty sure it IS low carb but my point really is that sites should realise that nutritional info is important.

If that helps...

I have been eating a lot of soup recently and have used the recipe below.   It is filling and has helped me to lose weight so I make up several times the volume and then freeze some of it so I always have some to hand.  I alter the recipe slightly by using a very large saucepan in place of a Dutch oven. I also substitute the "no chicken" broth with a broth made with chicken stock cubes and hot water.  Once the soup is cooked, I puree it and add in some creamy soft cheese and or some blue stilton instead of the half and half cream. It tastes really yummy.

I noted on there it was 7g carb and it said below "half a carb serving".  I wonder why 14g would be a full carb serving?  Most use 10g, though I guess they are rounding it down.

Maybe some places use 15g as a carb serving?

My thought was possibly they do use 10g, but this was 7g which is nearer to 5g (half a carb serving) than 10g?

I dunno so much, is it a UK site?

If they are behind the times and use those 10g CPs they all talked about at one time, then you could be right.

We'll just stick to the true value though, so much easier!

What were the old carb exchanges? Weren't they closer to 15g? I seem to recall one slice of bread being one starch exchange.

Mine were always 10g, as were CPs when they 'invented' them.

But I'm talking UK - you're talking USA !
