St swithins day has to meanings for me. Of course the normal one about lancet changing and the rain thing. The rain bit is mostly about my mothers friend who would say about it every year. She was always in my life as a good long term friend of my mothers and sadly died young from cancer (in her 50s). So I always have a bit of a sad smile about her on this day.
