Sami as long as you know why you put on then it won't be so bad but really great how you dealt with it!

I had a bit of a 'blow out' on Wednesday after weigh in which may prevent me losing the 1 lb but if it does happen at least I will know why.

My frustration comes when I have been Penny perfect and my loss does not reflect it.

The main thing is that your general trend is down so a bit of a hic cup is fine!

No serious damage done!  :)

If you know the reason that you have gained, or at least not lost, then that's OK, but when you don't lose or you actually gain it is frustrating indeed.  Seems like Sami dealt with this well.  However I just wanted to mention something I learned a few years ago.  I had started volunteering to help the leader at WeightWatchers and after a while she showed me how to weigh people, and I did this for a year or so (this was before I was diabetic).  So people would come along and have either not lost or gained and said "Oh, but I have been so good!"  Inevitably they would have a really good loss the following week.  So even though you may be disappointed don't give up because it may be a blip and can often just be down to a small thing like water retention on that day that you weigh.

It was the WW leader who, having noticed my rapid weight loss, told me to see the Dr as she thought I might be diabetic.  I was.... BGs were off the scale that could be measured by a meter.  I'd been stubbornly ignoring all the very obvious signs.

Everyone's body is different, of course, but I have found that weight loss is not really a "mathematical" thing, for me. Sometimes it's water weight, or food weight that throws off the scale. It's quite common to gain weight during muscle building or after a good/strenuous workout as well or when you have sore muscles (this is actually water weight even if you don't appear to be "retaining water" - the body is stocking up extra glycogen in case you do this workout again, and each molecule of glycogen contains 3 water molecules).

Sometimes my body just seems to decide that, calorie deficit or no calorie deficit, burning fat is just not what we're going to be doing right now :P

You've got the right attitude, Sami, keep your chin up and try not to let it get to you, and things will come around!

Patti that is absolutely right the body is a very odd thing! That said I have heard so many say at weigh in @I have been so good I don't understand why I haven't lost any weight' then I hear them tell their friends about the 'social' weekend they have had and a couple of Chinese meals they had during the week. The bottom line is that they are only fooling themselves at the end of the day.

I have to admit I was very quick to know something was wrong when I was diagnosed as I wet on a 3 week holiday to Florida and weighed just as I was about to come home and had lost 2 lb - no big deal for some people but I KNOW me and I don't lose weight for no reason.

That was the start of my concerns and quickly followed by my craving for full fat coke (which I rarely drink) a test by my brother in law who is also type 2 quickly showed a crazy high blood/sugar reading and off to the doctor I went!

Always listen to your body!

I saw a new weight on the scales today which I hadn't seen before, 1 pound lower than lowest I've seen before so that was exciting. Bought two new plates today too which made dinner look nicely presented. Dinner was chicken korma, vegetable flavoured brown rice, naan bread. Followed by peach and pineapple, yoghurt and jelly. It was all pretty tasty :)

I was down 2.5 pounds this last week, and it finally looks like my "last 30 days" weight chart is actually going somewhere, which it hadnt done for a while. It shows 219.2 30 days ago, and 211.5 this morning, so just under 8 pounds down in the last month.

15st1.5 this morning means the 14s are getting close! Really hoping to see them in the next week!

I took yesterday and today off calorie restriction and calorie counting as I had a few funny dizzy spells yesterday, so I wasn't expecting to lose. I don't mind having days off though occasionally so long as it doesn't become every day. It stops me getting worn out from all the counting if I have days off. Like Sami this must be the longest I have stuck to something and I don't want to let that go.
