I wonder if it sort of tests the battery? So like instead of saying it is 100% it checks the volt output over an hour or two to decide how full it is?

Sounds better than what my Vibe does anyway. It just has 3 bars, can sit at 3 bars, then 2 bars for ages, once it gets to 1 bar it will be dead soon and you have to change it. Real pain as you don't get any real warning. It has happened during the night a few times and since a battery swap invokes the self test of the pump you have to rewind and then prime the tubing again. Worth remembering since my pump doesn't use a handset / meter that it is hard on batteries, meaning you get 4-6 weeks out of one.

Well this is simply 'it' isn't it ?  ALL pumps have their pros and cons, and like a good many other things we use without thinking too much about them whether it's a camera, phone, washing machine or a pair of curtains - you have to weigh up the pros and cons of those available to you when you make your choice or where you don't get a choice - like it or lump it !  Why on earth should a pump be different EXCEPT that we are attached to them almost every second of our lives - and our lives depend on the working efficiently - and are therefore MUCH more important to each of us than any single other thing in our lives ....... including those we love and know.

Very odd thing to find myself saying - is my pump more important to me than Pete?  Well no actually - there are other ways of keeping myself alive after all - but there's no actual natural easily obtainable replacement for that man and there never can be.  I sincerely trust they broke the mould!  LOL

I did sort of wonder until you clarified that by saying!

When I read the last sentence in the previous paragraph I was thinking "OMG... Julian is far more important to me than my pump,  I could go back to injections.  I'd never be able to replace him!"

Sorry got that wrong my pump battery has dropped to 85% then I looked later back up to 100%. I changed the battery but went straight to 100%. So my conclusion is that each pump and each handsets have their on personalities so have a mind of their own.
