i'm back.... hi *waves*
« on: 12 March 2017, 01:33:14 PM »
Hello everyone,
My name is Helen.  I was a very active member for years and I made some great friendships.  I underwent a few miscarriages, and then gave birth to my son who was very poorly, and later passed away 2012.  This support group were fantastic during that time, and understood when I said I needed time away to heal...

so, here I am...back.....If you remember me, hi xx
If I don't yet....nice to meet you....

Helen! So wonderful to hear from you! I know it hasn't been an easy road, so don't talk about anything you don't want to, but...how have you been? :)

Hello you all xx

Diabetically speaking I am not too bad, I expected a worse Hba1c to be honest.  In old money I was around 7 on my last appointment...

My dogs are all becoming quite elderly now, so that combined with comfort eating (never sweets but savoury) have taken it's toll and I'm now 2 stone heavier and been trying to shift it.... so hard to get it down....

My renal function post pregnancies has stabilized, and I now have a confirmed diagnosis of long term renal reflux...so that has went a long way to explain why my body never coped very well (not diabetic related but does impact).  On medications for that now... but eyesight, injections sites etc are all good....

I was moved to a new workplace to enable me to still work with kids that are much older as I was left with PTSD, and that is a toughie...

Generally trying my hardest to keep bus, and distracted, and me an DH are still motorbiking/heavy metal'ing/festival'ing as much as possible....

and Sedge..I am still Rossi's biggest fan aside from yourself ;-)

So good to be in touch...it took me a while....

much love xx

Love it Helen !  Glad you're still able to work with kiddies - and not really surprised re the PTSD.  Just glad they diagnosed it properly.

Not so pleasing about the renal thing of course specifically - but as you say - explains quite a lot really - just a very very harsh way for anyone to have to find out about such things.

How's Jim ? (hope I've remembered his name right, sorry if I haven't - it has been a while!)
