Ahhh that sounds better V.  Did the doc give you any idea what it's likely to be?  Hope you are seeing Moorfields right now - or have already done so!

Board says approx 4 hr wait so we could be awhile! She didn't say she just said she thought it looked like I'd damaged it somehow and would want them to rule out anything serious.... :/

The doctor thought it was likely a cyst in/on the eyeball and said that the eyesight was likely to get worse before it got better. I have steroid drops for two weeks and then to go back. It is possible for them to remove the cyst if the drops don't help. We got back home about 2am so it was a longgg wait.

I've had 2 removed in the past.  Bit offputting when they approach your eye with a scalpel and I think I was cross eyed in the finish, it was the outer edge of my left eye, and I was told to stare hard out of the window, in the left-hand wall.

Yuk! - but such a relief a few minutes later.

Very brave!! ooh how panicky I'd be! Did you need pain killers for it? I assume it's a local anaesthetic?

All done under local - wow that hurt and she massaged along my eyelids as she did it, that was weird, but she said she knew it hurt.  And there was a nurse at my head, with said head held on the two sides in two very rigid hands!

Both of em kept telling me to look out of the window, and nursie was quite soothing - look at that lovely beach - the sun's just at the right temperature .. etc.  Not my most fun day out - but not actually all that bad an experience.  Bit like cataracts - it's HATEFUL!! - but I want the other one done asap !

I developed a cyst inside one eyelid a couple of years after cataracts. When I saw the ophthalmologist he said he would ave me back in two weeks to remove it (it was already distorting my vision). Anyway I went back two weeks later for a 2:00 pm appointment. After a three hour wait one of his colleagues said yu had best come back another day.Fortunately my favourite ophthalmologist (pity he moved on) came by and being his clinic said "No, we will do it today and I will observe". It was a really weird and uncomfortable experience (suspect the local anesthetic had not come in fully) but the relief of no pressure on the eyeball when the anesthetic wore off was fantastic!

That's where mine was, inner eyelid, Dr D.  I was a bit OOer when the surgeon was saying things like 'Oh - this is a lot bigger than I had thought, so you'll have to hang in there, whilst I get it all out!'  OMG, just get on with it luv! - and don't tell me any more things like that!  LOL
