60 stone teenager

(1/4) > >>

Amethyst:
This troubled young lady lives not a million miles from me but the reason for the post is this quote from a news article:

"She is now on a strict calorie-controlled and sugar-free diet."

Are the NHS maybe considering that sugar(carbs) could be resposible for weight gain after all?

Venomous:
I wonder how anyone could eat a diet completely free of sugar!

I don't know how someone gets to 60 stone... but then I guess a woman of 7 stone doesn't know how another woman can get to 10 stone... but 60 stone is hard to imagine.

sami:

Lucy:
I don't expect by sugar they mean carbs. More just no chocolate cakes sweets and no sugar sprinkled over cereal.

She has had problems for a while. I've never liked "boot camp" and "biggest loser" style reality shows; this snippet from the news report confirms my dislike:

--- Quote ---Miss Davis became a minor celebrity when she took part in an American bootcamp series and slimmed down to a healthier weight and more manageable size. But neighbours claimed that her disappearance from view coincided with a new bout of weight gain around three years ago.
--- End quote ---

She needs a new way of thinking to find a new way of eating for life.
