pms543:
This came in my email box - maybe you already saw it?

sedge:
Don't the NICE Guidelines actually say that? - testing and structured ed?  How does this wording differ?

I have always thought they go 'well we don't do structured ed, so no need for us to provide meters' - ie use that as an excuse.

I've never heard anyone say they've had structured ed either!  Unless it's Desmond and I have no idea how often that teaches you to test, or what they say to do when you see the results.

Pattidevans:
Here's a link to a Petition I sent in 2007
Read the first sentences of the response.  There have to my knowledge been two petitions since then and both got the same answer.  The point being?  That the Government aren't restricting test strips so it's no use petitioning them.

Petitions should be sent to the local PCT with enough signatures to make them take notice - but that's harder said than done - how many local diabetics do you know?

Still, does no harm to sign it, even though I don't think it will have any effect.

pms543:
feel free to remove it Patti if you like...am still fairly new at all this lark...lol

Pattidevans:
It's fine Poppet.  Doing no harm and no harm to sign it but I was just pointing out that such petitions, whilst well meant, don't actually seem to get us anywhere because they are aimed at the wrong place.
