Looking for Beta readers
« on: 24 January 2014, 11:59:34 AM »
Hello all

I know you all read mightily worthy tomes but I wonder if any of you would be prepared to 'beta' read my latest effort 'Echoes of My Father'.  Words:  73K but probably last chapter will be completely revamped.  I am not so much worried about the grammar or spelling but more about the continuity and the general viability of the psychiatric/court sections.  It is the story of a young girl in Co Donegal in Ireland who kills her drunken father.

My writing is in the form of a story with a beginning, middle and end.  It does not have complicated plots, doesn't include any peeps turning into werewolves and by today's standards might be considered old-fashioned.  It would be nice to have some very very honest opinions - i.e. no holds barred, no thinking about 'hurting feelings' etc.

Thank you if you can help.

I'm talking before I put it on a Publishing Site.  So I would be sending it as a Word document i.e giving you all a free copy BEFORE I publish it in any format.  I'm looking for people to let me know what they think of it, to say eg gosh no Colette, don't even try for a publisher!!!!

Of course I will. Send it. I'll PM an email address.

If you have problems finding a publisher ask me about self-publishing and Createspace.

By chance I watched "Funny Farm" again last night. Get it out of the video library and you'll realise the connection to publishing :)
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.
