My own script experience:
I've been ordering repeats online for the past 6 months with no problems.
I order items from my repeat list and submit my needs. Later I receive a notification email from my surgery to confirm my script request has been received.
When my request is approved the script is electronically sent to my local pharmacy and is usually delivered to my door 3 days later (not counting weekends) If for some reason I'm not home to receive delivery a card is pushed through my letterbox asking me to phone to rearrange a delivery slot (usually the day after)
BTW, When ordering my last script I added a note in the 'Comments Field' asking for a batch of ketostix to be included (those are not included on my repeat list) the request was duly approved and delivered with my usual items.
I love this setup as it saves me a whole lot of time (and effort!) it is so convenient and saves me trudging down to my surgery and back up to the pharmacy, especially bad through pouring rain!
As to script items, I order my BP meds and test strips every 28 days (approx) and they always arrive. I don't always need my Lantus & Novorapid together since I tend to acquire a stock of Lantus, in that case I just order my fast acting until I have a surplus. in other words I order insulin and also needles on a 'need to have' basis. I've never had any problems at all in getting my scripts filled as and when needed. I must add that I do have a good solid relationship with my GP of many years and hopefully that will continue until I snuff it, or my doc retires
