Yesterday we went for a walk in the afternoon, not that far really.... About 2.5 miles round trip so I can't think the exercise accounted for what happened later. We were going to go all the way to Mousehole as the sun was shining and it was warm, but I found my legs dragging after about 1.2 miles (due B12 probs I am sure). Anyway, returned home and later cooked Sirloin steak with celeriac dauphinoise and green beans. Sat watching TV for an hour or so and I remember saying to Julian that I felt really tired and wanted to go to bed. The next thing I remember was being awake in bed, no memory of getting ready for bed or whether or not I had slept and testing 3.1 According to my meter that was 22:00. I ate 3 glucose tabs, waited 10 minutes and tested again 2.4. Cut a long story short I ended up disconnecting my pump entirely, eating a packet and a half of glucose tabs and two cereal bars and just could not get BGs above 3. In the end Julian brought me a slice of toast (no butter) absolutely dripping with honey. I ate half a slice of it and had real difficulty keeping it down, so couldn't eat the other half. Then he brought me a cup of hot chocolate made with milk and sugar, but it was 00:17 before I got to 4.3 and felt confident enough to sleep. So the hypo lasted over 2 hours - much of which is a blur to me. It was really frightening and I think it frightened J too. Needless to say FBG was 10.2
Only thing I can think is that two days ago I upped my metformin to 1500 and perhaps my ratios need lowering along with basals.
