I like to go a-wandering..
« on: 10 May 2017, 10:39:40 PM »
I leave here in a couple of hours. Day 1 is a bit brutal: car 30km to bus, bus 1hr to rail, train 1 1/2 hours to airport, three hours there then 6 hours to Perth, WA, a couple of hours there then 11 hours to Johannesburg. I arrive there at 5 am local time but can't check in until 2pm. Fun :).

I'll be home again in early June after Joburg, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Pilanesberg and Victoria Falls.

I'll try to drop in occasionally, subject to wifi and time availability.

Be well and look after each other, folks.
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

I need to go back to bed cos I'm worn out listening to the first bit!  LOL

Enjoy your trip - though I do envy you Victoria Falls and anywhere different is interesting, I have to say I've never really wanted to visit SA.  Mind you my mate at work's dad's second wife (if you're still with me) owned a ruby mine, it might have appealed more to me if I was my colleague I expect!  LOL

T1 DX 1972, pumping Novorapid 24/05/11

Hope you have a wonderful time Alan.  Like Sedge I do not envy you the first part!

Vice falls is magical.  I have spent a few days there.  I hope you are staying in the Vic falls hotel which is terribly British Raj (or was when we went).  If you are very brave it is worth doing the flight of the angels.  We went from there to Hwange game park where I spent one of the most magical nights of my life.  We slept in a tent in the bush and were within feet of wild elephants at one point in the moonlight.  We watched them at the watering hole, with the young bulls mock-fighting.  We were woken in the morning by gunshot.  The ranger had shot a wild pig which was foraging in camp stores. ;D

Type 1.  Mis-diagnosed T2 May 2003, finally had CPeptide test 15/7/11 and proper diagnosis 1/9/11.  Now pumping Apidra with Roche Spirit Combo pump. Hba1c 6.1 Sept 2017.  45 (6.3) April 2018.
