I didn't get any choice about distance or reading lenses and won't with this one either. Distance was the only option. Privately of course you can choose.
So - no I won't but will still need 'seeing' glasses to bring my very long distance far-sightedness closer, and reading glasses to a) magnify and b) correct the astigmatism.
Scared me originally having my focal point brought closer - always used to refer to driving on the M6, getting on it at the start at the M1. Naturally my focal point was roughly at the Thelwall viaduct (Manchester way) but now, it was only at Spaghetti Junction! (Birmingham) LOL
I loved being able to see the fine details of all the leaves on the trees at the end of our garden without specs, mainly out of my right eye, after I had the first op but before I could get new glasses. Of course with vision that long, my eyes had very very little chance of focussing close enough to see words on paper or anywhere else almost, unless painted on those tree trunks!
