Crikey Alan!

I was brought up to expect a clip round the ear if I objected to anything the doctor was doing and remember being amazed when some girls passed out when we were all queuing up in our bras to have the TB jab at school - no privacy, just one after the other.  I recall being pleased when the girl in front of me, when the nurse tried to stick the needle in her, had difficulty and decided it was too blunt now and changed it in between her and me!  I only knew the other one by name - not my friend or in my year LOL  The ones who passed out obviously didn't have a mother like mine!

I recall all the polio jabs - 3 a month apart, then a booster a while later.  Horrid - but there again we'd all seen people in West Bromwich who'd survived polio and No I flippin didn't want it, even at about 7? I knew that - so you just had to bear it and shut up.  So I did bear it - and so I've always done that, no question.

John hasn't whinged about it since the day when it happened and everything was running clear afterwards and continues to do so.

I spoke too soon.   :banghead:  John has started bleeding again and it's still ongoing.  He rang the senior nurse and she said to ring her Monday if it is continuing but if the clots block the system completely, he will have to go to A&E.

He has just gone to bed now but is frightened of going asleep as he needs to keep drinking water for it helps to dilute any clots.  I told him to set his alarm for every two hours.  He is so depressed again.

Oh Pauline - my heart goes out to both of you.  What a mess!  I hope he can be sorted out sooner rather than later.  Do keep us updated.

Don't upset him by letting him know that everyone knows, but if appropriate tell him that Julian and I are sending positive thoughts.

I dunno which is actually worse TBH.  Yeah of course you want it not to bleed, so please stop - but after it does the flippin clots can then  block you up.  There's not  lot of room for a 'scab' in that pipe .......

John has passed blood and clots all day today and again just before he went to bed.  The blood vessels that were damaged are where the urethra and bladder join.

He is going to ring the GP tomorrow morning.

Pauline, get him to ring ProstateUK or Macmillan this issue is far beyond his GP.

He managed to get an urgent appointment with the GP at 10.40 this morning and she will assess whether he should be admitted to hospital.  I told him to pack a bag with a few things in it to take with him, just in case he has to go in.

He is still bleeding this morning and the sample that he has just shown me is a very dark red.   :o

John saw the GP who contacted the urology department.  He is now in hospital and likely to be in for two days or so.

I left him eating a three course meal of soup, pork and apple casserole and a yoghurt dessert.  There is nothing wrong with his appetite!!   ;D

I am not surprised that he has been admitted Pauline.  Seems like the best place for him to get sorted out.   Is it a hospital near to you?

His menu is making me hungry!

The hospital is about 15 miles away.

I went out with my son to a quiz at a pub this evening.  It was my first time but I really enjoyed it and we came third.  I have been wanting to go for ages and this was the perfect opportunity as I didn't want to be on my own at home.
