I managed OK over Xmas, and having practised on the stairs at daughter's on Xmas Day, felt confident I'd be OK going to our 'usual' New year rally - the indoor meeting room where all the social events take place in winter is upstairs so no point in going if you can't 'do' stairs! We went and had our usual excellent time with the usual suspects and some new faces - as well as several couples we hadn't seen anywhere on UK rallies as they're either in the north or the south - of us as we're in the centre, but also of the country itself, hence have only met before in France! So that was nice.
Had the stitch out yesterday - only the one but 2 cross threads so with the small scabs here there and virtually everywhere - coupled with the fact I still healed quickly so she had to tug frequently so Owwww, LOL Before they did this, here was one point immediately beneath the scar that was the most painful, and that part is still the worst bit and also one of the two bits that had bled more when I had the dressing changed before Xmas. Just really sore. Had a proper shower this morning so was able to get rid of a bit more scab, and slap a good dollop of cream on my knee thereafter and give it a lovely gentle massage. Not so frightened to bend it now those stitches are not trapped in a scab and pulling even time. Not going berserk yet (if I've ever done that in living memory?) but just not scared of bending it any more.
A nice relief and a good start to the year, hopefully!
