There's got to be a relatively simple, safe cure surely?
You'd think so wouldn't you?  Any "official" website or software I've ever been involved with has been cr*p though.   I used to have to submit quarterly returns to Government South West and it took hours... I'd get it all done and then it'd crash and I'd have to start again.  The local council stuff is as bad.

Locked down for what purpose? - so OK can't access Facespace or whatever - but my hospital absolutely uses TP software, dunno about Diasend, but they certainly have the Roche pump software prog on them in the Diabetes centre at Rugby and download our pumps to it.  The Wisdem centre at UHCW itself do too.  At the same time I don't suppose for a single minute that the endos and their staff have access to the DaVinci robot program or the Urology dept to the Roche prog.

your hospital is in a minority having access to outside software

it is only recently that diasend has "worked" at my hospital appointments -- I have been using it for over 4 years

So - how expensive is ONE Windows 10 Laptop per hospital then?

I have to say though, the prostate cancer specialist Macmillan Nurse at UHCW - the one that has an extra degree in that speciality, who got a further bit of specialist training and authorisation to allow him to prescribe - does not have an ultrasound scanner to use when he needs one - they had one - but people borrow it and don't bring it back.

And the hospital will not provide anywhere they can lock it away for exclusive use.  So - a bloke turns up post treatment and needs a scan to see whats what - would take a  couple of minutes to see if there's a blockage and discover what can be done about it - whereas he has to suffer for weeks or months while admin faff about booking an ultrasound appointment that Josh looks at and says pity we didn't know about this in August - now look at the size of it!

Just frustrating in the extreme.

At the same time whoever it is that doesn't trust the staff - why do they trust the staff to do, like brain operations, or stop folk bleeding out when they have to cut and rejoin arteries?

Are they all schizophrenic?

Think it’s free.  It’s money the NHS don’t have For IT.

yep patti... it does seem to be money as much as anything

i started my libre trial back in june -- and when my appointment to check results I had faithfully uploaded all summer and to see if I received further funding rolled around on 5th september

guess what --- the LIbre View software was not able to be used because of IT problems at hospital -- so I was forced to print out 22 pages of colour reports to bring along

it was worth it as I now have permanent funding for Libre but another example of the IT issues

I think the whole NHS has money issues and therefore the IT equipment they are using is well out of date.  THen there was the issue of the virus that attacked, so you can see why they don’t want unknown “devices” plugged in that may carry viruses.
