Er Learning curve?  LOL!  No idea where to even start.  I actually meant that I'd ask Mike to do it.  Haven't liked to ask him to do stuff recently as he has enough on his plate.

Thanks for the wishes and the same to you  :)

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate this holiday from across the pond.  Another thing I must have overlooked was a post from Ziggy back in September reminding us all that Christmas was only 3 months away.  :)

Well, I am in a real mess this year.  I have had so much going on what with John's health and trying to prepare my son's new flat so he can move in.  It had no white goods, furniture or carpets and he has not been well enough to help. I am now totally exhausted.  The family are coming to us this year and the Christmas decorations are still in the loft and no-one feels fit enough to get them down, yet alone put them up.  I spent most of yesterday shopping for gifts and buying groceries.  Today I have spent most of the day wrapping the presents but I am so tired that they are taking me ages to do.  The house is in a mess too and needs vacuuming throughout.  It doesn't help that they cats brought a bird in and there are feathers in 5 rooms and the hallway.  The bathrooms and kitchen need cleaning too before our other son, his partner and grandchildren arrive on Monday.  Just thinking about what there is to do tomorrow makes me feel tired.

I have arranged to go out for a drink with my friend Lynda this evening so I think I will go and have a nap for an hour before getting ready to go out.

I hope you all have a very Happy Christmas.   :star:  :mandysballoon: :mandysballoon: :red_wine :red_wine :red_wine :star: :mandysballoon:

Pauline - I know, I know - but you two have done everything your other son should have helped with anyway - least he can do is help YOU both when he IS there.

Our son Simon has helped us.  We bought a luxurious leather secondhand three piece suite, which came apart so we didn't need a truck to transport it, as the pieces fitted in the car.  However, the chair seats were very heavy.  John and I had already taken one of the armchairs home to our house two days earlier as Gavin's flat is a bit small to have a 3 seater settee and 2 armchairs.  I didn't want John to have to lift another heavy piece so rang Simon.  He was due to go to Manchester that evening but delayed his works trip by 12 hours and came up from Southampton to help us.  He works away a lot, sometimes at weekends and does really long hours, so he is very limited to the help he can give us.   Simon has said he will prepare and cook the meal on Christmas day.  His daughter (our grandaughter) is 13 and always helps.

That hour nap I had yesterday afternoon did me the world of good and I had a lovely restful night out with Lynda.  I feel much better today after a good nights sleep and am ready to get some of the jobs done.

Good - just don't knock yourself out is all.

Tell the family what I've always told anybody that spends time at our house - Should you happen to see a cobweb or anything else at all you'd be happier about were it not there - please feel absolutely free to remove it yourself!  I'd be pleased to find you the necessary materials.

There was a few style changes made to make the forum a bit more phone and tablet friendly. I'd wondered if that had an effect on putting up the Xmas logo. Might have left the request a bit late too 😀
